INDIGO-West, one of two direct Perth–Singapore cables, has been out of service since a shunt fault in early August inside the Perth Submarine Cable Protection Zone. That fault was repaired on 15 September, but traffic did not restore: an existing shunt fault off Singapore had become a full cable break. AusInternet says the repair off Singapore has been delayed to between 25 October and 3 November.
With the Australia Singapore Cable (ASC) also broken since 4 September, both direct Perth–Singapore systems are out of service. Traffic has been rerouted over longer paths.

The INDIGO West shunt fault repair has been delayed. The new repair window is 25 October 2026, 01:00 UTC to 3 November 2026, 23:59 UTC, replacing the earlier 16–26 October window.
Repairs off Singapore is expected to be on 16 Oct 2026 until 26 Oct 2026.

INDIGO-West still down as Singapore-side fault becomes a full break
AusInternet says the Perth repair is complete, but an existing shunt fault on INDIGO-West off Singapore has become a full cable break and services remain down. Repairs off Singapore are expected between 16 and 26 October 2026.
Restoration scheduled for 24 October
Vocus says INDIGO-West restoration is scheduled for 24 October, and that it has agreed to sequence the INDIGO-West repair ahead of ASC.
Repair completed, but traffic did not restore
An operator notice relayed by an ISP says restoration works finished on 15 September. Traffic failed to restore after power-up, and testing found the shunt fault had deteriorated into a full cut.
